As a result of the campaign, English Heritage reverse their decision and the building receives a Grade II Listing status. The campaign for the site’s future gets its first taste of people power. They write that the building “has been listed at Grade II in recognition of its historic interest as part of Brunel’s South Devon atmospheric railway”.
By now, ‘the Atmos Project’ has come into existence; named because of the connection with Brunel’s Atmospheric Railway and in recognition of the need to mitigate against climate change.
