You are invited to have a say and get involved with Atmos Totnes. Our new Hub will be open Fridays & Saturdays from 17th October – 6th December, 2014, first opening its doors this Friday at 10am. Drop in, bring your memories, your thoughts, your ideas. Remember the past, respond to the present and be a voice in creating the future of this iconic Totnes site.
the past
Alongside the creative consultation about the future of the site we have secured a small Heritage Lottery Grant to be able to tell the story about the history of the site from its evolution as the site of Brunel’s atmospheric railway experiment, through its period as a creamery and main employer in the town, to the community drive to bring it back into use.
Delivered in partnership with local and highly regarded participatory arts organisation, Encounters, we want to create a living archive with you about the site from the memories, stories, facts and information YOU contribute.
the present
Every Friday and Saturday from 17th October – 6th December, 2014, Atmos Totnes opens its doors to share information and invite your input.
the future
This is first stage of in-depth Community Consultation. Through this, you will help to shape the future of the site through the Community Right to Build Order that the Totnes Community Development Society will be submitting. The consultation will be participatory, interactive and creative to ensure that the Totnes community is fully involved in decisions about the site. The space will start empty and will fill up as people visit and take part, creating a rich visual collection of ideas and responses for all to see that will then be translated into first options for the site in December.
This site will belong to all of us and everyone has an important part to play in its future.
